Mid Western Forestry provide a comprehensive range of forestry services to landowners. Our main business is the establishment and management of plantations and woodlands throughout the country. Because forestry is interlinked with other farm schemes we have an in-depth knowledge of the other schemes and how the interact with forestry.

Our Aim

Our aim is to advise you on what option is best for you, based on your current situation and what you want to do. Sometimes this is straightforward and all you will need is information. Other times it is a complex situation and our detailed knowledge of all the farm schemes along with our in-house accountants knowledge, will mean the difference between a good decision and a great one.

Initial Consultation and Site visit Free of charge

Coming from a farming background, we know and understand farming an forestry. We know that it is a big decision to plant some of your land. To help you make the right decision we will give you all the information over the phone, we will (if you wish) call out and assess your and for forestry. We do this free of charge as we know that you need to know all the facts before you can make an informed decision. We do not charge you for this.

Plant, manage and maintain your plantation at no cost to you.

The Department of Agriculture, through the Forest Service provide 100% grants to cover the cost of establishing and maintaining your plantation for the first four years. We will undertake this work on your behalf and it will cost you nothing. Everything is covered under this contract for the first four years. In addition we will insure your plantation for the first four years free of charge

In addition we will do all the paperwork and liaise with the Department on your behalf. In the event that your application is unsuccessful and you are not granted permission to plant under the schemes, we will not charge you anything. Its all part of the service.

Good honest advice

Forestry is generally only part of a farming business. Depending on your circumstances, the best option for you may be a mix of farm schemes such as REPS, FEPS, Afforestation and Early Retirement. Our skill is in finding this optimal mix. We have detailed knowledge and experience of all the farm schemes and we will give you all the information and honestly advise you on the best option for you.
